About B.I.G. British International School 

B.I.G. is a recognised British International School in the south of Rome, located on a modern, spacious campus in the heart of Casal Palocco. We welcome children aged 2 to 11, from Early Birds to Year 6, and follow the English National Curriculum to provide an innovative, child-centred and holistic education. With 40% of our students coming from international backgrounds and more than 28 nationalities represented across our community, B.I.G. proudly embraces its global identity, fostering curiosity, openness and respect from the earliest years. 

Our educational offer  

Following the English National Curriculum, B.I.G. offers a balanced, enriching and engaging learning experience, with active and experiential learning at the core of our approach. Lessons are often cross-curricular, allowing students to explore meaningful connections between subjects while developing academic skills, creativity and critical thinking. Our international teaching team brings a wide range of experience and perspectives, fostering an international mindset and supporting students in becoming confident, independent learners. As a school officially recognised as a “Scuola straniera” by the Italian Ministry of Education, B.I.G. offers Italian mother-tongue students the opportunity to follow the Programma Ministeriale Italiano, while international students can explore the language and culture through our International Italian programme.

A one-of-a-kind campus

 Our purpose-built campus provides a safe, stimulating and hands-on learning environment, where indoor and outdoor spaces are fully integrated into everyday learning. Facilities include purposefully designed classrooms with direct outdoor access, flexible shared spaces, dedicated labs, an immersive classroom, a salt room, a light atelier and a large indoor gym. Outdoor learning is further enhanced by two outdoor classrooms, a theatre area, an equestrian arena and sports fields for football, basketball and padel. A distinctive feature of B.I.G. is our student-run educational farm, home to ponies, goats, pigs, rabbits, turtles and a Highland cow, offering meaningful learning opportunities for responsibility, empathy and connection with nature.

Small numbers, personalised care

At B.I.G., we intentionally maintain small class sizes to ensure every child receives the attention and support they need to thrive. Our limited enrolment allows teachers to truly know each student, tailor learning experiences and closely support academic, emotional and social development. This personalised approach extends beyond the classroom. We work in close partnership with families, fostering open communication and strong relationships built on trust and shared values. As a result, B.I.G. offers a warm, close-knit community where students and families feel supported, valued and confident in their educational journey
