Core International School
"Core"was founded in 1983 and is staffed by qualified, experienced
British and Commonwealth teachers. The school began in a small way and
over the last years we have been able to maintain the original familiar
atmosphere where children of many nationalities, cultures and religious
backgrounds, learn to live and work together in harmony.The school policy
is to keep classes small so that each child receives individual attention
and is encouraged to reach his or her full potential. All lessons are
conducted in English and emphasis is placed on the children acquiring
a sound understanding of the three basic skills.Our Nursery Department,
which caters for children from three to five years old, provides a gentle
transition from home to school life. Through art, craft, music and movement
and drama activities children are introduced to the basic concepts. Language
development plays an important role in the discovery and exploration of
different materials and learning situations. Number concepts and reading
skills are introduced in an atmosphere designed to produce a positive
attitude towards future learning.The Primary Department offers, in addition
to the basic skills, a rich course in history, geography and the sciences.
Trips into Rome and the surrounding area are organised, on a regular basis
to augment these studies. |
